Kate apparently suffers from ADHD in her writing as
well as her working life. Regencies, paranormals, fantasies,
historicals -- against the sage advice of established, successful
writers ("focus, dammit!") Kate has written them all. A couple of
them twice.
Completed Work:
The Last Mind Traveler: A fantasy. Numironimo
is the last of her kind, the mind-reading cast that had enslaved the
rest of society. An outcast because her warped power Numi is unaware
that her cast has been wiped out, overthrown by its own slaves. NOW
AVAILABLE as a $1 e-book! Read the first chapter here.
Unnatural Calamities: A Contemporary. Winner
in 2003 Jasmine, finalist in 2003 Finally A Bride. A sensual
contemporary comedy featuring calm Christopher and slightly oddball
Janey, Unnatural Calamities has it all: amnesia, a secret baby,
cops, guns, a millionaire venture capitalist, an alpha beta hero,
twins (and of course a twin mix-up with an evil twin in prison), a
Bad Boy, wild sex in a shower, handcuffs, a fish out of water, a
Ranger type a la Stephanie Plum, a cowboy, and an ex-wife who was a
gorgeous model.
The Strange Mr. White: A paranormal. Semi-finalist
in 2003 Dorchester New Voices Contest. A time-travel that takes
place in the future and in the past. Trapped and alone in war-torn
Spain of 1812, Miss Eliza Wickham is approached by a stranger who
insists upon helping her. Though the well-bred Miss Wickman
occasionally wonders if the peculiar Mr. White suffers from
brain-fever or is a habitual liar, she finds she is attracted to the
odd, elusive man. Jazz White, an outcast in his own society of 2200,
is abruptly summoned to join the elite corps of time traveling
agents. His commission is to protect Eliza, the ancestor of his
time’s greatest hero. But in order to fulfill his whole assignment,
he must betray the trust of the woman he grows to love, the woman
who teaches him what it is to be fully human.
His Grace's Scheme: A traditional Regency. Orphan
Sarah Berg is on her way to Yorkshire put out to pasture, taking on
the role poor relation after an unsuccessful Season. But when the
stuffy Edward Hall, Duke of Rendell falls ill at her feet, she takes
care of him. He always pays back his debts. And now her life is
changed forever, no matter how hard she fights his condescending yet
good intentions.
The Paid Companion: A traditional Regency. Left
penniless by her gentleman father’s death, Emmeline Correll is
forced to seek employment. Almost thirty, tough-minded, but with a
wicked sense of humor, Emmeline is hired as a companion by a member
of the ton who collects gossip and expects the members of her
household to help her. Ethan, the Viscount Caudler, is a stern
reformer with a reputation for clean living. When he gets drunk, he
mistakes Emmeline for a prostitute. She does not reveal his folly.
Once she was a woman he entirely overlooked, now Ethan sees her
everywhere. What kind of game is she playing? Perhaps she is his
mysterious yet inept blackmailer. Before long, they work together to
uncover two blackmailers, one ineffectual, the other dangerously
skillful.

She is currently working on The Queen's Choice, a fantasy
that won second place in the 2003 Suzannah Paranormal category.
She has recently completed the first draft of an unnamed third
historical set in 1880 New York. |
